The Queen's University Employment Relations Programs are responding to the Coronavirus COVID 19 situation by offering our classes and services by distance.Although department offices are closed, the faculty and staff are working remotely and continue to be responsive to our current and prospective students.

 

Please note that:

- MIR and PMIR Summer term courses are being offered remotely.

- The MIR and PMIR Programs are still accepting applications for the Fall term commencing in September.

Welcome to Employment Relations

The Master of Industrial Relations program at Queen's University has a long-standing commitment to teaching and research in industrial relations.
 

Undergraduate Studies:

The new pp加速器国际版 includes five courses that lead to a Certificate in Employment Relations. These courses provide a broad foundation in the field of employment relations, and form the base for a recognized university credential that will support students who are seeking entry level jobs in labour relations and human resources management after leaving Queen’s.

 

Graduate Studies:

The graduate program is a Master’s degree program designed to prepare students for a variety of outstanding career opportunities in employment relations, including careers in industrial and labour relations, human resources management, teaching, and consulting in IR/HR. Our programs attract recent graduates into the full-time MIR program, as well as career employees, with work experience into the Professional MIR Program (PMIR).

Since the MIR was established in 1982, more than 1000 Queen’s MIR graduates have gone on to contribute significantly to advancing employment relations in private and public sector organizations, both in Canada and abroad.

Are you looking for graduate level training that will propel you throughout your career?  The PMIR offers a variety of core courses in labour relations, employment law, and human resource management, and elective courses in areas such as human rights law, negotiations and conflict resolution.  Together, these courses provide an advanced degree for career advancement in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management.

Our PMIR program is structured for part-time studies that normally allow full-time employees to complete the degree in three years. Each year, classes are typically offered over one long weekend during September, November, January and February, and for two intensive study weeks in May and June.

The Queen's PMIR program is open to receiving applications from individuals who hold a four-year bachelor's degree with upper-class standing (B+) or equivalent from accredited institutions, and have at least three years of full-time work experience related to the field.
